Once you have made sure that there isn’t any debris, spray a layer of lacquer onto the panel to remove fading. Let it dry for 30 minutes and remove the tape from the sides of the panel.

If you see corrosion in the battery compartment, then you should remove the batteries. Put a drop or two of vinegar as it helps neutralize and dissolve the corrosion. Apply it to any corroded areas on the battery and terminals. Let the vinegar sit for a minute to soak in, once soaked scrub the corroded areas with a hard bristle brush to clean the terminals. If the corrosion does not come off then you could use fine-grit sandpaper. Put the batteries back in and check the light, if the batteries are dead then you might replace them with a fresh pair.
