Renewable energy is a clean and sustainable way of generating electricity.  It comes from natural processes that never stop being recycled, like sunlight or wind. It’s also an important part of the solution to climate change, which affects us all. Renewables are becoming more affordable every year, and many countries now have policies in place that encourage their uptake.

Renewable electricity supply is becoming more and more popular in homes across the world. It’s good for the environment, and it saves money too. There are many ways to generate electricity from the sun, wind, water, and biomass. You can even heat your homes using solar heating or a geothermal system. Following are some ways by which you can use renewable energy.

Solar Power

Homeowners can harness the power of solar energy and make their homes more energy-efficient. One way is by using passive solar techniques, which are designs that use materials like concrete or bricks to store heat from sunlight. The sunlight enters through the south-facing windows before it penetrates other rooms in your house where there may be less natural light coming through these surfaces.

You can also install PV solar panels to power homes. These panels directly convert solar energy to electric energy. These panels are installed on rooftops and in open spaces, which get lots of direct sunlight.

Small Wind Systems

Small wind turbines can reduce your dependence on traditional electricity needs. Several companies do site surveys, install and maintain wind turbines for small businesses and homeowners. These small wind turbines are placed in windy areas, which helps spin the turbines. This causes the generator to spin while producing electricity that can be stored and used.

Hydro

Hydropower is a clean and sustainable way to produce electricity, but the wind may soon overtake it. Water-powered turbines rely on fast-flowing rivers or high elevations with plenty of rain for hydropower plants to operate at maximum efficiency; however, the technology has been steadily declining due to its reliance on natural resources that are increasingly scarce across our planet. Small homeowners might have difficulty installing hydropower plants as not everyone has access to fast-flowing waters, but if you have a stream flowing near your home, you can install a small turbine to power your home.

Biomass

Biomass is organic material that comes from plants and animals, typically including crops or waste wood. When burned in an oven-like environment with water at high pressure to make it steamy enough for turbines of all sorts (including gas), this biomass releases chemical energy as heat rather than burning up completely as coal would do otherwise.

However, after about half a century’s worth of use, most types will start releasing carbon dioxide instead if they’re not burnt efficiently, so using them isn’t really “clean” per se. Some materials can be considered as low-carbon options under the right circumstances.

Renewable energy sources are a good way to reduce carbon emissions and save money by producing electricity for small businesses and homes. This also helps in fighting global warming.
